Volcanic Stone,
Handcrafted in Fire

We transform raw volcanic basalt into sculptural surfaces for visionary spaces. Each tile bears the memory of 1,100°C kilns and the hand of our artisans — a fusion of geological time and human craft.

REFIRE volcanic stone

Born of Fire.
Reborn in Fire.

ORIGIN

Hainan · Leiqiong
UNESCO Geopark

Hainan's Volcanic Coast

Not every volcanic stone can stand a second flame. Ours can.

Each REFIRE tile begins on the northern coast of Hainan Island, China — inside Leiqiong UNESCO Global Geopark, one of the world's most intact Quaternary volcanic landscapes. Over a million years ago, lava rose through fissures beneath the sea and cooled fast enough to lock its bubbles, mineral flow and crystal structure into stone.

We quarry only the microporous basalt born from those eruptions. Hainan's grey andesite — visually similar, geologically different — cannot survive what comes next. We tested it. The fire told us no.

II

CRAFT

1100°C · twice fired
hand-fired in Foshan

Fired Twice, in Foshan

A glaze can be copied. A volcano cannot.

Every REFIRE tile walks through two firings inside our kiln in Foshan. The first drives out the water a stone has carried for over a million years. The second, hand-fired at up to 1100°C, fuses metal, crystal, pearl or glow-in-the-dark glaze directly into the basalt — held inside a narrow safety window between basalt's solidus and liquidus.

One degree hotter, the stone softens. One degree cooler, the glaze leaves pinholes. There is no automation for this edge. And because no two pieces of volcanic stone share the same porosity, the same glaze pours differently into every tile.

BELIEF

What We Stand For

We don't trust composites that "look like" volcanic stone. We don't airbrush our pieces into uniformity.

We keep the pores — the breath of an eruption.
We keep the variation — the honest distance between one lava flow and another.
We keep the scarcity — only a handful of permitted basalt sites in northern Hainan, only a few tons we are willing to fire each year.

REFIRE means to fire again. A volcano made this stone once. We bring it back to life, one piece at a time.

Born from Fire, Built to Endure

Every tile carries the force of volcanic earth — forged through an uncompromising process that bridges ancient geology with precision craftsmanship.

100% Natural Volcanic Stone

Sourced from select volcanic regions. No synthetic binders, no resins — pure basalt, shaped and fired.

Hand-Glazed

Each surface is individually finished by artisans with decades of experience. No two tiles are identical.

Heat & Stain Resistant

Born at 1,100°C, our tiles shrug off heat, stains, and decades of foot traffic — indoors and out.

Made in China, Loved Worldwide

Hand-fired in Foshan, China — for designers building hotels, cafés, and timeless residences worldwide.

WHERE OUR VOLCANIC STONE LIVES

Hospitality · F&B · Residential · Wellness

Volcanic stone in hotel lobby

Hospitality

For hotels, resorts, and members clubs where every surface tells the brand story. Our volcanic stone delivers the depth and patina that synthetic materials only imitate.

Volcanic stone in restaurant interior

F&B

Restaurants, cafés, and bars use our tiles where heat, spills, and constant traffic test materials. Volcanic stone resists staining, retains its finish, and ages with character.

Volcanic stone in residential living room

Residential

Custom homes and high-end apartments specify our tiles for kitchens, bathrooms, and feature walls. Each piece is unique — no two installations look identical.

Volcanic stone in spa wellness space

Wellness

Spas, saunas, and pool surrounds use our textured finishes for slip safety and a tactile, grounding atmosphere. Frost-resistant, with low water absorption.

Boutique Commercial Atrium

A landmark commercial development specified volcanic stone tiles for its 12-meter feature wall and atrium water installation. The deep umber tones of the Cascade series anchor the public space, with custom 1200×600mm slabs cladding the central column. The natural variation in each tile creates a continuous, hand-finished surface that mass-produced porcelain cannot replicate.

The Fire That Shapes Stone

Every REFIRE tile follows a journey that spans millions of years of geology — and four weeks of human devotion.

1

Quarry & Mill

Raw basalt is extracted from select volcanic deposits, then milled into ultra-fine powder for purity and consistency.

2

Press & Form

High-pressure hydraulic presses shape each tile body to precise dimensions before the first firing.

3

Hand-Glaze

Master glazers apply mineral-rich coatings by hand — brushing, dipping, and spraying to achieve depth impossible by machine.

4

Kiln at 1100°C

A 72-hour controlled firing vitrifies the body and fuses glaze to stone, producing a surface that will last generations.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

For designers, architects, and procurement specialists

What's your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?

Standard collection orders start from 30 sqm per SKU. Custom finishes, sizes, or formats require a minimum of 100 sqm. For sampling and small batches, contact us directly — we accommodate trial orders for designers and showrooms.

How long is the production lead time?

Standard formats ship in 25-35 days from order confirmation. Custom thickness, oversized formats (above 600×1200mm), or color matching add 7-14 days. Rush orders may be available — please ask.

How does the sampling process work?

We offer two sample types — (1) A5-size cut samples, free, shipped within 5 business days via international express. (2) Full-tile production samples, material cost + shipping, refunded against the first order over 30 sqm. Request via the contact form or WhatsApp.

How are the tiles packaged for export?

All tiles are packed in foam-lined wooden crates with edge protectors. Each crate is fumigation-treated (ISPM-15 compliant) and labeled with SKU, lot number, and orientation arrows. A standard 20ft container loads approximately 280-320 sqm depending on thickness.

What thicknesses are available, and how do I choose?

Standard thicknesses — 9mm for interior wall and light residential floor; 12mm for commercial floor and outdoor wall; 18mm for heavy commercial floor and façade cladding. Outdoor paving and high-traffic public spaces should specify 15mm or above. Our team will recommend based on your project specs.

Are the tiles suitable for both indoor and outdoor use?

Yes. Our volcanic stone tiles are frost-resistant, UV-stable, and have a water absorption rate below 0.5%. The same material works for interior feature walls, kitchen counters, terrace paving, pool surrounds, and façade cladding.

What's the slip rating?

Our textured finishes meet R11 (DIN 51130) and Class C (BS 7976), suitable for wet areas, pool decks, and outdoor walkways. Polished and honed finishes are R9, recommended for dry interior use. Full ratings are documented in each product's technical sheet.

What are your shipping terms?

We ship worldwide on FOB Foshan, CIF destination port, or DDP terms upon request. Standard incoterms FOB / CIF for container loads; DDP available for select destinations including US East Coast, Rotterdam, Hamburg, and Singapore. We work with established forwarders and provide all export documentation.
